We stayed at Court Farm during our trip to Cornwall, I can’t actually remember how I found it, quite possibly by just googling. It’s in Marhamchurch just outside of Bude in north Cornwall. I was looking for somewhere super toddler friendly, affordable and with a few activities on site in case of endless rain. I needn’t have worried about the rain, the weather was hot, hot, hot and very sunny but anyhow, Court Farm ticked my criteria boxes and more.
I forgot to take any photos of the accommodation whilst it was immaculate (i.e. within the first 20 seconds of us arriving) but check out their website if you want to see. We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom barns, which are the farm’s “cheapest” accommodation (some of the more deluxe places have gardens and hot tubs) but it is still done out to a high standard – modern, stylish, well equipped and with glorious marshmallowy beds and bedding.
The owners put a well stocked toy box in our barn (LS now has a slight obsession with Thomas the Tank Engine), children’s and adult’s books were available to borrow and we hired a buggy and monitor for the week to save on car space. There is a range of other baby, child and activity equipment to hire or borrow – we borrowed windbreaks and fishing nets to take to the beach.
The farm itself had a lot going on for guests: swimming pool (indoor but part of the door and roof could be opened), outdoor play area, tiny indoor play area, tennis court, games room and spa treatment room. And, of course, animals! The children could feed the chickens and kune pigs and collect eggs every morning and we used to go to visit them (and the goats, alpaca and sheep) at other times too.
LS adored the swing and the animals! We spent half of most days at the farm, swimming, playing and animal visiting with the rest of the day spent on the beach.
