Ice cream? Unicorn-inspired? Added fruit to reduce the sugar-filled guilt? Have an Unicorn Ice Cream Sundae – what’s not to like!
The sunshine has come back for the Bank Holiday weekend! It’s the perfect time to indulge in summer-y treats before autumn truly kicks in.
We’ve been making variations of these sundaes all summer. Inspired by the unicorn smoothies served at the Blogtacular party back in June.
Unicorn Ice Cream Sundae Recipe
This isn’t a precise recipe. Quantities will depend on the cups you are using and you can choose your favourite fruits and ice cream. In fact, use sorbet or frozen yoghurt if you prefer. The only must is to have a selection of different colours to get the multi-coloured rainbow effect!
Here I’ve used blueberries, pistachio ice cream, strawberries, strawberry ice cream, mango then vanilla ice cream. All topped with whipped cream, sprinkles and a rainbow sweet for a unicorn mane and the end of an ice cream cone for a horn! It’s pretty simple.

Mmmm I’ve got to try these out with the kiddies! Hidden fruits!
Pretty much hidden!
I bet these aren’t even *that* unhealthy as there doesn’t seem to be too much ice cream in them. And they’re sooooo pretty!!!
Thank you Emma!
These look quite healthy for a sundae. I love the expression on your daughter’s face as she looks into her glass!!

I think she is wondering if I have finished taking a photo so she can eat it #bloggerschild

Thanks Jayne – totally delicious!
Hi Sian, what’s not to like? A little bit of good topped off with the not so good. Although I get a distinct impression your girls weren’t totally convinced! You have to laugh at their little faces.
xx
Oh dear having looked again at the photo I see what you mean! I think I’ll change it. Just a moment thing – they can’t eat enough of these (unfortunately / fortunately!).
