We spent most of last Friday at Trent Country Park in Cockfosters, north London (at the very end of the Piccadilly line for those familiar with that!). It’s close to us and we go fairly often but it was lovely to visit in the spring warmth, see the carpets of daffodils and have our first spring picnic. We travelled back from Manchester quite late the night before and the friends we went with kindly provided a picnic for us as our cupboards were bare – how lovely it that?!
We started off in WRAS, the animal sanctuary in the park. As well as animals, there is lovely little playground and we ate our picnic there too. There isn’t a toilet there (the cost is too prohibitive for the sanctuary) so after lunch, we headed to the other side of the park for a toilet break and also to climb on the wooden sculptures, play in the other playground and eat mud (that was for Imogen only). I also did several laps of the car park trying to get Miss I to nap but to no avail.
We ended the day back in the animal sanctuary with an ice lolly – another first for spring!
