New beginnings - The Mama Story

It’s not just been ‘back to school’ for us here, but whole new beginnings with Reception and Playgroup starts last week! And a whole new beginning for me too, getting some regularly child-free time for the first time in nearly 2.5 years.

S has taken to school well and despite being a little worn down already with the early mornings and routine, is loving it. She’s loving being with her old buddies, making new friends and getting to know the lovely teachers. She is mostly loving school dinners too, though I have to call them ‘school lunches’ as she thinks dinner is your evening meal and wanted to know when she would be staying late to have dinner at school! On the first day the pudding was chocolate and custard which was a huge hit and she was a bit disappointed that she didn’t get cake every day but we agreed that yoghurt is delicious too.

Imo has started at a little playgroup a couple of times a week and, like her sister, went in without tears and has been very happy there so far. She loves the outdoor play area, painting (she makes too much mess for me to want to do this a lot at home!) and, like her sis, loves snack time too.

I’m trying to ignore the untidy kitchen and focus on blogging, working on a new website and thinking about what I might want to do next…..

Gorgeous photos! My daughter has just started at nursery two mornings a week, and my son has just started year one, so I know how you’re feeling with the sudden extra few hours a week without them around! x #LivingArrows
