Geneology Course With NCC Home Learning

If you are thinking about starting a course to expand your skills, retrain or get back onto work after a break, then read on!

NCC Home Learning

Award winning NCC Home Learning offer a huge range of distance based courses, for comparatively reasonable prices. Most of the courses can be completed online, in your own time and at your own pace with a tutor available to support you via email.

The courses are accredited by various bodies and exam boards and include GCSEs, A-Levels, vocational qualifications and hobby courses. The most popular courses they offer include Teaching Assistant, Criminal Psychology and Wedding Planner Diplomas.

Genealogy Diploma

NCC asked me if I’d like to take a course to review the experience and I’ve chosen the Genealogy Diploma, one of their hobby courses. Genealogy is one of the fastest growing hobbies in the UK, examining heritage and ancestry. The course includes how to use and access information contained in a variety of available records including birth certificates, census and war records. I’ve mentioned my love of genealogy before and can’t wait to improve my fact finding skills. There is also a great section at the end of the course about tying all the research together and presenting it – this is something I’ve struggled with to date.

What next?

The course has 10 modules and will take (on average) 360 hours in total to complete. You get 12 months tutor support from NCC. I’ve given myself a deadline of 3 months to complete the course and take the exam at the end. I’ll complete various activities as I go, which are then assessed by the tutor. All being well, I’ll report back at the beginning of September and tell you how it went. I can’t wait to get started!

Hi Sian, online learning is great as it gives people the chance to study who may otherwise not have. Having the chance to study a ‘hobby course’ sounds like fun too, I bet come September you’ll be a proper inspector Cluso when it comes to fact finding!

Thank you for linking up with the #MMBC.
