Good Friday at Capel Manor Gardens

28th March 2016

Friday felt like the real first day of spring, a day of glorious sunshine and warmth! We went to do the Easter Egg Hunt at Capel Manor Gardens to make the most of the sunshine. About 1,000 families had the same idea, I’ve never seen it so busy! It was a bit too busy for us really and as soon as we got in we headed to a far corner, away from the crowds to explore and wave to the tractor.

After a while we decided to find the trail (backwards) and find the clues and collect chocolate coins along the way.

We found some guinea pigs to stroke, as well as a ladybird who loved Seren’s bright yellow cardigan. Her pink hair is courtesy of hairspray from Claire’s Accessories by the way.

And we stopped by the lake to search for the koi carp.

Eventually we found the Easter bunny! But, he had run out of eggs by that point. Stocks were replenished soon I heard but we told Seren that the bunny had delivered ours straight home (sort of the truth, we are awash with chocolate!).

The weather has certainly taken a turn for the worst since Friday and we have lost a couple of fence panels again in the wind. Hopefully we will still have a sunny day or two during the holidays as it was so lovely to feel the sun and not the wind on our faces.

Linking up to Coombe Mill’s Country Kids linky. Fiona has been asked me all winter if we have an outdoorsy post to link up but it would seem we are very much fair weather outdoor explorers!

Yay a lovely outdoor adventure! I have seen so many lovely posts this week from Easter hunts, we had our own at Coombe Mill making the most of the lovely weather too. It really didn’t last but at least there was one day and you managed to make the most of it. I love the bright yellow wellies and jumper, they all look so springlike and thrilled to be outside. I’m so sorry to hear they ran out of eggs, that would be my nightmare. I bought 175 for our egg hunt here for 25 children just to make sure that didn’t happen. I hope we have some more fair weather days for some more outdoor adventures. Thank you for joining me for #CountryKids

What a wonderful day out! We went to a National trust Easter Egg hunt on Friday and that was manically busy too – never seen anywhere so busy! x
