Adventures Memories

A cold April afternoon at Myddelton House Gardens

25th April 2016

Despite the wintery weather, we had an ace Sunday. After a turbulent night for both the little ones (especially the littlest one, sleep is not her friend at the moment) we had a lie in then Andy made blueberry pancakes for breakfast. We got a new car last week and went on our first family outing in it, just locally to Myddelton House Gardens.

Seren declared that would be SO BORING as there is no playground there. Of course, she had a brilliant time, generally running around, playing hide and seek, looking for flowers, collecting sticks and looking for fish.

Imogen is happy with anywhere she can run wild and dig in the dirt! We stopped for toasted teacakes, coffee and juice in the cafe afterwards. We got our favourite table outside, right next to the water feature that keeps the girls amused. On the next table were a couple of very friendly, robins who are obviously used to feasting on cafe crumbs. After they flew off, Imogen practised her latest phrase “where’s birdy gone?” complete with outstretched arms and upturned hands.

I managed to get a little bit of shopping done afterwards, Andy cut the lawn, we had a roast dinner and played a board game afterwards (Orchard’s Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, borrowed from school). Seren’s got more patience for game playing these days but Andy had to whisk Imogen off to play with jigsaws instead as she just wanted to eat the pieces!

Lovely photos. N’s exactly the same, he thinks everywhere I take him is boring apart from if there’s kids lunch boxes or a playground.
