I escaped the usual Wednesday afternoon routine yesterday to the dream land of Chelsea in Bloom 2018.
Chelsea in Bloom 2018
It is a fringe event to Chelsea Flower Show, an art show where the shops and streets of Chelsea are adorned with gorgeous floral displays. The theme this year is ‘Summer of Love’, which is inspired by the Royal Wedding and the 60’s/70’s cultural revolution (how very relevant for the Kings Road!). If that wasn’t amazing enough here’s also a separate floral event in neighbouring Belgravia with a Frida Kahlo theme. Both of these events are on until this Saturday, I’d recommend you pop down to see them yourself if you can.
I took hundreds of photos but I think these were my favourites.
Around Duke of York Square
Around Sloane Square
The Kings Road
I spied a themed rickshaw here – you can even take a free rickshaw ride around the route.
It was so much fun! Alas, I didn’t have any energy left to go to Belgravia after 2.5 hours wandering around Chelsea. There were quite a few displays in Chelsea I missed too as there was so much to see. You can find tour maps for both Chelsea in Bloom 2018 & Belgravia in Bloom 2018 on their websites –
About Hue Me Happy
Hue Me Happy is about finding the little rays of sunlight that help keep a sense of balance in every day life. For me these are cups of lovely coffee, a house or garden filled with flowers, time to think and be creative, being outdoors, wine infused evenings with friends and mini-adventures that take me outside of the normal routine. I’m Sian, a 40-something Mancunian mama living in north London.
